Economy structure
Argentina's economy benefits from enormous natural resources, a highly literate population, an export-oriented sector, agriculture and a diversified industrial base.

However, its economic performance has been very uneven throughout history. In the early twentieth century was one of the most promising countries in the world, but over the years has gone through several crises that affected the economy.

Today, Argentina is considered one of the major emerging economies with the second-highest Human Development Index and the highest GDP per capita in purchasing power terms in Latin America. It is part of the G-20 (Group of 20 industrialized and emerging countries) and also of Mercosur.
